Shoe Care
It is a new season and this means that I will put away my summer shoes and bring out some boots. But, before saying goodbye to my sneakers and sandals I make sure that they will have a good time during hibernation by giving them some extra care.
Before putting the shoes away I clean them by removing all dirt with a shoe brush. Also, I have a shoe brush hanging in the hallway so I can grab it easily to give my shoes a sweep any time before heading out if needed. This makes them last longer as lingering dirt wears them quicker.
For caring and protecting the shoes, I use shoe cream, spray or another product that is suitable for the material of the shoe. If any shoes need resoling I bring them to a shoemaker.
When it comes to storing my shoes, I have kept all the shoe boxes for my shoes so once it is time to put them away I’ll put them in a shoe box to keep them safe for next season.
