In October we wear pink

October is marked as the Breast Cancer Awareness Month and its purpose is to increase awareness and attention for early detection and treatment of the disease. Currently there is not enough knowledge on the causes of breast cancer and by buying a pink ribbon you create awareness for the cause and support research on breast cancer. In Sweden there are two kinds of pink ribbons. The original that is sold by Bröstcancerförbundet and looks the same every year. They support research specifically connected to breast cancer. In addition to that, Cancerförbundet is selling a pink ribbon that change design and designer every year but is always pink. The money raised for this ribbon supports research of all types of cancer.
