Saffron Buns

On Sunday, here in Sweden we celebrate Lucia. In my understanding Lucia is, at its core, a celebration of when the light conquers the dark even though that in reality happens during the Winter Solstice. Usually M and I go to a Lucia celebration super early in the morning when it still is pitch black outside but this year we won’t due to covid so we will have a small celebration at home instead. Something important to do during the Lucia celebration is to eat a lot of saffron buns- my absolute favourite holiday treat. The best ones according to me are the ones you bake by yourself.
