Amor fati
I was bummed over the fact that my vacation started with the first rainstorm in months. But I stumbled across a phrase which made me see beyond that. Amor fati. It may well be the next Carpe diem but to me it struck a cord which lingered on. Amor fati means Love your fate which I loosely translate to love what happens to you. This can be very hard because life is tougher than having a rain storm on your first day of vacation. However, it also means (to me) to give up resistance. There is so little we control in the world and if we would react to every thing that goes wrong in our life or every sorrow we must live through we would miss life itself. Our only life. So whatever you are going through try to release the resistance and accept what life is right now and know that this state is not permanent. Life changes and so do we.
