Maska

“You can’t tell how long time it has taken to make. Just how well it’s made” is something my mom used to tell me when I was just learning to sow and it’s also the motto of the Clothing brand MASKA.

MASKA specialises in contemporary pieces in natural materials and combining Scandinavian design principles; functionality with longevity. They carefully select all yarns and fabrics and have direct contact with producers to maintain consistent quality. Most of the production is located in the EU, which ensures that production complies with both labor laws and strict restrictions on chemicals. According to their website (maska.se), all yarn for the knitwear, except cashmere and silk, is spun in Europe. The cashmere and silk are produced in Nepal in a GOTS-certified factory. The yarn used in Nepal also follows a GOTS-certified production process.

MASKA is a well-established brand and you can find their products in many stores worldwide. However, if you’re ever in Gothenburg you can visit their own store at Fjärde Långgatan 6. They have quite limited opening hours: Wednesday 14-17.30, but I can highly recommend a visit to if not to buy something, chat with their lovely staff.
